For humanity to limit global temperature rise it is no longer enough to merely reduce our carbon emissions
Failure to do so will have catastrophic consequences for human life on our planet.
Many major corporates (e.g. Microsoft, Stripe & Swiss:RE) & governments (e.g. the EU & UK) have woken up to this fact and are quickly attempting to fund atmospheric carbon removal as a key part of wider Net Zero 2050 goals.
The problem they face is the lack of rapid, certifiable & scalable methods for purchasing carbon removal credits.
We must also remove most of the carbon already emitted into the atmosphere

Rapid
The carbon needs to be removed now, not in 20 years’ time. Growing forests is excellent and Dowmann fully supports afforestation & rewilding. However, the carbon must be removed immediately, and the carbon removal credits issued within weeks not decades to achieve the Net Zero goals.

Scalable
The volume of carbon removal required is 40 gigatons per year. We need industrial scale solutions capable of long term, verifiable carbon removal with individual projects removing tens of thousands of tons of carbon per year.

Certified
The clean tech industry is scarred by the legacy of greenwashing i.e. charlatans selling carbon offset credits that have no connection to actual physical carbon offsets. Major corporate customers cannot risk the brand damage of being involved in poorly regulated schemes
